Chilli con carne

Cook in the saucepan or slow cooker this chilli recipe is always a favourite.

  • Dried chilli 2
  • Onions, red 2
  • Garlic cloves 4
  • Coriander 20 grams
  • Chillies, red 3
  • Olive oil Drizzle
  • Paprika 1.5 Tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 Tbsp
  • Minced steak 500 grams
  • Tinned tomatoes 3 Tins
  • Capsicum 3
  • Kidney beans 2 Tins


  1. Peel and chop the onion, peppers, coriander, chilli, garlic.
  2. Place the onion, garlic, chilli and peppers in a saucepan with olive oil and fry on medium heat for a few minutes until the onion has browned. 
  3. Add the mince beef and fry until the beef has browned.
  4. Add the spices along with the kidney beans and tomatoes and simmer for between 20mins - 2 hours.
  5. Divide into bowls and serve with fresh coriander as a garnish.
