Shish taouk kebab

This traditional chicken kebab is popular at parties.

  • Chicken breast 450g
  • Lemon juice 3 Tbsp
  • Olive oil 1 Tbsp
  • Garlic 2 Cloves
  • Cumin 1/4 Tsp
  • Pepper 1/2 Tsp
  • Cayenne pepper 1/4 Tsp


  1. Chop the garlic clove, and cut the chicken into large chunks.
  2. In a large mixing bowl add the chicken, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, cayenne pepper and ground black pepper. Mix all the ingredients together then cover and refrigerate for 2-24 hours. 
  3. Remove from the refrigerator and thread the chicken pieces onto skewers.
  4. Cook the chicken under the grill or on a BBQ, turning regularly to ensure the chicken is cooked through. Serve hot.
